Bond for Dr. Kenneth Donald Haygood, 54, of Tyler, Smith County, Texas, United States was set at $3,550,000. He was booked into the Smith County Jail in Tyler.
Haygood, who was in private practive in Tyler, is accused of sexually assaulting four patients. He was charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child and three charges of sexual assault.
On December 27, 2007, Haygood allegedly sexually assaulted a girl, then 8, who was taken to an appointment with him to have her thyroid checked. On February 6, 2024, she told an investigator that because of anxiety, she delayed reporting the abuse until hearing of his suspension.
In 2017 or 2018, Haygood allegedly sexually assaulted a woman during an examination and during a massage. He allegedly started grooming another female patient for sexually assault in 2018 then sexually assaulted her and monitored her activity through a phone app.
On December 5, 2018, Haygood allegedly sexually assaulted another woman who went to his clinic for an appointment for a massage due to sciatica issues. On December 6, 2018, she made a report to the Tyler Police Department.
On June 9, 2023, an order prohibited Haygood from seeing, examining, treating, prescribing to, providing consultation for or otherwise practicing medicine on female patients including telemedicine. On October 24, 2023, his Texas medical license was temporarily suspended without notice by a disciplinary panel of the Texas Medical Board.
On November 2, 2023, a sergeant with the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit started investigating the allegations that Haygood sexually assaulted four patients. On February 13, 2024, the Tyler doctor was arrested.
