Denisse Oleas-Arancibia of Queens, New York City, New York, United States has died. She was 38.
Born and raised in Ecuador, Oleas-Arancibia came to New York City in 2018. In 2021, her son Edwin Cevallos, then 16, joined her in the city.
Oleas-Arancibia was a sex worker with two children. She lived in an apartment in Queens with Cevallos and a nephew while her parents and her other son remain in Ecuador.
On February 7, 2024, Oleas-Arancibia cooked Cevallos breakfast and paid a barber for his haircut. That was the last time he saw her.
At 2:14 p.m., Oleas-Arancibia checked in to SoHo 54 in New York City. On the morning of February 8, 2024, she was found dead beside a broken iron inside her room at the hotel.
A pair of men’s pants splattered with blood was found beside Oleas-Arancibia’s body. She was lying beneath a blanket.
That morning, Raad Almansoori, 26, was caught on camera leaving the hotel wearing Oleas-Arancibia’s leggings splattered with blood. It was the same leggings she wore when she arrived at the hotel.
Oleas-Arancibia’s death was ruled a homicide. She died of compression to her neck and blunt head trauma.
On February 17, 2024, Almansoori repeatedly stabbed another woman in Phoenix, Arizona and tried to steal her car but he ran from the scene withot stealing it.
On the morning of February 18, 2024, Almansoori allegedly repeatedly stabbed a woman at a McDonald’s restaurant in Surprise, Arizona, USA. She was taken to a hospital where she is currently recovering.
After leaving the restaurant, Almansoori allegedly stole a car and fled. Police officers later spotted the car in Scottsdale, Arizona and arrested him.
Almansoori was booked into the Maricopa County Jail in Phoenix for attempted murder, robbery, assault, aggravated assault, criminal damage and two counts of theft.
On February 19, 2024, Almansoori was identified a person of interest in the killing of Oleas-Arancibia. New York City Police Department detectives want to question him about her death.
