Amateur mixed martial artist “The Storm” Malik Basahel, 22, was one of the winners at “PFL vs Bellator: Champs“. He is 5’5” tall and he competes in the flyweight division.

In July 2022, Basahel made his amateur MMA debut. He is an alumnus of the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation and he previously competed in Caged Steel, Almighty Fighting Championship, Vida Fight Championships, FightStar Championship and Unity Fighting Championship.

Co-promoted by the Professional Fighters League with Bellator MMA, “PFL vs Bellator: Champs” was held at Kingdom Arena, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on February 24, 2024. On the card were one amateur MMA bout and 10 professional MMA bouts.

In the first bout of the evening, Basahel fought “Morcego” Vinicius Pereira, 19, of Brazil in an amateur contest. They battled it out at a catch weight of 129 pounds.

Basheer Reda served as the referee. After three three-minute rounds, he raised the hand of Basael, who was declared the winner via unanimous decision.

“PFL vs Bellator: Champs” is the first MMA event held in Saudi Arabia. It marked the PFL debut of Basahel, who now holds an amateur MMA record of 18 wins, 2 losses and 1 draw.
