Oscar Nicolas Olea, 38, of Key Biscayne, Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States is a gymnastics coach. He is accused of sexually battering two of his female students when they were still minors.
In 2004, the first alleged victim became Olea’s gymnastic student. In 2008, he started to befriend her and portray himself as a big brother, according to her.
At the time, the girl started taking private lessons with Olea at American Gymster in Key Biscayne and he would also drive her to another gym in Coral Gables, Miami-Dade County. He allegedly sexually abused her multiple times at the gym in Key Biscayne and at his apartment.
In 2012, Olea allegedly started sexually abusing the second alleged victim. According to her, he made her feel loved and valued at the time while she was being bullied and her parents were going through a divorce.
In 2013, Olea requested a permit from the Parks and Recreation Department after American Gymsters fired him for carrying a teenage girl in an inappropriate manner at the community center. He who owns Flip Out Workout, which was incorporated on January 13, 2014 and is based in Miami, Miami-Dade County.
In January 2023, the second alleged victim came forward to police. In September 2023, the Key Biscayne Police Department started the investigation into Olea.
On February 28, 2024, Olea surrendered to authorities. He was booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center in Miami and charged with two counts of sexual battery.
