Who is Joey Eaton?

  1. On July 9, 2009, he was sentenced to probation for a residential burglary in Kansas.
  2. On July 16, 2010, he was released from probation for burglary conviction in Kansas.
  3. On January 1, 2018, he was in Lakeland, Polk County, Florida. On January 6, 2018, he visited Auburndale, Polk County. On January 7, 2018, he was in Clermont, Lake County, Florida.
  4. On February 15, 2018, he visited Winter Haven, Polk County.
  5. On May 31, 2018, he was sentenced for three counts of aggravated assault and a weapons violation after he attacked three police officers in Florida while they were trying to arrest him.
  6. On February 15, 2021, he was released from jail in Florida.
  7. On March 1, 2021, he was sentenced in Maine for assault.
  8. On April 13, 2023, he wrote on Facebook, “It’s finally over. There are so many people I can’t wait to see. I’ll be back in Wichita soon.” On April 14, 2023, his mother picked him up from Maine Correctional Center and drove him to Robert and Patti’s residence in Bowdoin. On April 16, 2023, he wrote on Facebook, “Life as a whole is suffering. You work for the duration, you get sick, people you love die, and your guaranteed to have “bad days.” You die and lose everything you spent your life obtaining. There is more to it than meets the eye. Life is a trial for what is to come.”
  9. On April 17, 2023, he livestreamed on Facebook an emotional rant about being molested. On April 18, 2023, he fatally shot his parents, Robert and Patti inside Robert and Patti’s house in Bowdoin then randomly shot Sean, Justin and Paige in the area of I-295 in Yarmouth, Cumberland County. He was booked into Two Bridges Regional Jail in Wiscasset, Lincoln County, Maine and charged with four counts of murder.
  10. On June 9, 2023, a grand jury in Cumberland County filed 11 charges against him including attempted murder. On June 16, 2023, he was indicted on theft charges, accusing him of stealing one gun from his mother and eight guns from his father.
  11. On July 28, 2023, he pleaded not guilty, not criminally responsible to 27 charges.
  12. On December 27, 2023, he withdrew his plea of not criminally responsible by reason of insanity, specifically related to the murder charges.
  13. In February 2024, he turned 35.
