Felicia Smith, 38, is a language arts teacher at Driftwood Middle School in Hollywood, Broward County, Florida, United States. She is accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a female student.
On March 13, 2024, the Hollywood Police Department received information about inappropriate contact between Smith and the student. That day, officers arrested her after questioning her.
According to Smith, she recently developed a maternal relationship with the student. She told the officers that she did kissed the student on school grounds.
When the officers interviewed the student, she said she was forced to inappropriately touch Smith. The age of the student was not revealed.
The Broward County Public Schools has reassigned Smith away from Driftwood Middle School and students pending the investigation’s outcome. She was charged with lewd and lascivious molestation and lewd and lascivious battery.
Investigation is still ongoing. The Hollywood Police Department is working closely with the Broward School Board.
