Horacio Bonilla-Garcia, 48, of El Salvador has been arrested. He previously lived in Suffolk County, New York, United States where he used the alias Marcelino Bonilla.

Under that alias, Bonilla-Garcia was wanted for rape-strong arm. There was an active felony warrant for his arrest in Suffolk County, New York, USA. 

On the evening of March 13, 2024, Bonilla-Garcia was driving a black Dodge Charger with an expired license plate and without a driver’s license. At 8:04 p.m., officers with the police department of Adairsville, Bartow County, Georgia, USA initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle.

Bonilla-Garcia told the officers he did not have a license but pulled out an identification card from El Salvador. They arrested him for driving while unlicensed.

While the officers were entering Bonilla-Garcia’s information into the system, they found an active warrant through immigration for a violation pertaining to a prior deportation. After he was fingerprinted via a Rapid ID device, they found the active felony warrant for his arrest in Suffolk County.

Currently, Bonilla-Garcia is awaiting extradition to New York. He was booked into the Bartow County Jail in Cartersville, Bartow County.

The Salvadoran man is 5’0″ tall. He weighs 170 pounds.
