Haroon Zakai, 44, worked as a computer technician at the Gwendolyn Woolley Elementary School in Las Vegas, Clark County, Nevada, United States. He is accused of secretly recording other employees at the school.

Zakai allegedly hid an audio device inside of a smoke detector inside of a classroom. While trying to break the audio device, he allegedly attacked the teacher of the classroom.

On March 20, 2024, Clark County School District Police Department officers arrested Zakai. His alleged victims were all adults.

The computer technician was booked into to the Clark County Detention Center in Las Vegas. He was charged with electronic surveillance at school without knowledge, damage to community property, attempting to destroy or conceal evidence and monitoring private conversations.

Bail for Zakai was set at $8,000. After he is released, he will be placed on unpaid leave and will be prohibited from entering the school campus.

In February 2022, the Clark County School District hired Zakai. He was assigned to the Gwendolyn Woolley Elementary School.
