Shail Patel, 29, of Tampa, Florida, United States is a self-employed information technology worker who previously lived in Monterey, California, USA. He is of Indian descent.
On March 19, 2024, Patel boarded a flight at the Tampa International Airport in Tampa. While onboard, he allegedly yelled and cursed at other passengers.
“F–k you, blue-eyed white devils!” Patel allegedly said. “I’m gonna take this plane down with all you motherf——s on it.”
Moreover, Patel allegedly slapped another man on the plane and spat on him. Because of the disturbance, the flight was delayed 30 minutes.
Other passengers detained Patel on the plane’s bridge before he was handcuffed and placed under arrest. He smelled strongly of alcohol and had blood-shot eyes, according to police officers.
Bond for Patel was set at $2,150. He was charged with disorderly intoxication and two counts of battery.
