Edward C. Lin, 44, of Walnut Creek, Contra Costa County, California, United States was recently arrested in Nevada, USA. Aside from Walnut Creek, he has lived in other parts of California including Whittier, San Rafael, Santa Monica, Venice, Riverside, Huntington Beach, Los Angeles, Pomona and Santa Ana.

Lin and five other men were arrested during a recent undercover operation targeting human trafficking in Douglas County, Nevada. It was conducted by members of the investigations division of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office in coordination with the Douglas County Street Enforcement Team and the human exploitation and trafficking team of the police department of Reno, Washoe County, Nevada.

On March 29, 2024, Lin was arrested in Douglas County. Also arrested that day were Richard Brieger, 25, of Reno and South Lake Tahoe, El Dorado County, California residents Hiral Patel, 41, Alec Caples, 27, and Ivan Perez, 20.

Bail for Lin was set at $110,000. He was charged with attempted child abuse, attempted statutory sexual seduction and attempted solicitation of a minor 14 and older.

The sixth suspect is Matthew Ryan Hall, 26, of Reno. He was arrested on March 30, 2024 in Minden, Douglas County, which is around 427 miles away from Las Vegas, Clark County, Nevada.

Between October 13, 2023 and October 14, 2023, an undercover operation targeting online child sex predators in Las Vegas led to the arrest of 17 men. One of them is Tanner Lucas Castro, 26, an alumnus of the University of Nevada-Las Vegas in Las Vegas.
