Maia is originally from Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul. He is Fabiano Maia and Juliana Andrada‘s son and Pedro Maia‘s twin brother.

A Brazilian jiu-jitsu practitioner, Matheus is a former amateur kickboxer and mixed martial arts fighter who competed in the featherweight division. Here are 13 more things about him:
