Alaa Robert Bartley, 41, of Gilbert, Maricopa County, Arizona, United States is a police officer in Phoenix, Maricopa County. While living in Gilbert, he allegedly used a social media platform to communicate with an adult woman between August 2020 and February 2022.
During that period, Bartley and the woman allegedly expressed their sexual interest in children. She allegedly sent him child pornography images.
While Bartley used a fictitious name, he identified himself as a police officer and sent a picture of himself that showed his face to her. She was arrested and charged in Michigan, USA.
On April 5, 2024, Bartley was arrested and charged with knowingly receiving child pornography and knowingly possessing child pornography. The Phoenix Police Department has placed him on administrative leave.
In 2007, Bartley joined the Phoenix Police Department. On January 7, 2010, he and five other Phoenix Police Department officers arrested Jason Lee Runyan.
On January 5, 2011, Runyan filed a complained against Bartley and the five other cops. In 2015, Bartley’s annual salary was $72,425.60.
On October 5, 2016, Bartley was driving a GMC passenger van with Cindi Bartley as a passenger. The van collided with a red Hyundai passenger vehicle, which was driven by David Alley, 59, of Pine, Gila County, Arizona, north of Payson, Gila County.
Alley died on scene from his injuries. Both Alaa and Cindi were injured and treated at a hospital.
On September 8, 2018, Alaa arrested Anthony Rocco Difebo, then 27, who was charged with burglary and indecent exposure. The latter was allegedly naked when he stole a sheet from a woman’s shed in her yard.
