Kahbir Oglesby-Hicks, 21, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States is one of the five suspects accused of shooting in a park in West Philadelphia, Philadelphia at around 2:30 p.m. on April 10, 2024. An Eid al-Fitr event was taking place in the park.

Some 30 shots were fired when two groups inside the park exchanged gunfire. Around 1,000 people were there celebrating the end of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.

Nhashon “Tawfiq” Richards, 22, and a boy, 15, were shot and rushed to a hospital. They were both listed as stable.

One of the suspects is a girl, 16. The others are a boy, 16, and two boys, both 15.

One of the two 15-year-old suspects, who was armed with a rifle, was shot in his shoulder and leg by an officer. The boy was taken to the hospital in stable condition.

The officer was placed on administrative duty. A girl, 15, suffered a fractured leg after being struck by a police patrol vehicle responding to the scene.

Five weapons were recovered at the scene. All of the five suspects were arrested that day.

Oglesby-Hicks was charged with evading arrest and several weapons offenses in connection with the shooting. The teenage suspects were each charged with recklessly endangering another person and weapons offenses.
