John Robert Magaro was born in Akron, Summit County, Ohio, United States to James Magaro and Wendy Magaro. John grew up in Munroe Falls, Summit County.
James is of Italian descent while Wendy is Jewish. They were both teachers.
After graduating from Stow–Munroe Falls High School in Stow, Summit County in 2001, John studied theater at Point Park University i Pittsburgh, Allegheny, County, Pennsylvania, USA. He played Roland Hlavin in the CBS series “The Good Wife” from 2015 to 2016 and Vince Muccio in the Netflix series “Orange is the New Black” from 2015 to 2019.
John starred in the 2022 films “Call Jane”, “Showing Up” and “The Mistress”. He starred in the 2023 film “Past Lives” with Greta Lee and Teo Yoo.
