
Hampton Brooks Templeton, 18, of Mount Pleasant, Charleston County, South Carolina, United States is one of the three children of Morgan Stuart Templeton, 53, and Catherine McCabe Brawley Templeton, 53. Morgan is Dr. Ronald K. Templeton‘s son and Dr. William S. Terry Jr.‘s grandson.
Born in Lexington, South Carolina, Catherine is William S. Brawley‘s daughter and Paul B. Brawley and Helen Brawley‘s granddaughter. Morgan and Catherine were Ogletree Deakins employees when they got married at Windward Point in Columbia, South Carolina on May 19, 2001.
In 2018, Catherine was a candidate for the Republican nomination for governor of South Carolina. She finished third in the primary election.
Hampton Brooks Templeton arrested twice
In September 2023, Hampton was arrested in Mount Pleasant. He was charged with pointing and presenting a firearm.
In January 2024, the charge was dismissed. After posting a $10,000 bond, Hampton was released.
Why Hampton is on Catherine’s payroll is unclear. On March 27, 2024, he received $1,126.88 in payroll expenses.
On April 16, 2024, Hampton was arrested again in Mount Pleasant. He was charged with first degree assault and battery and booked into the Sheriff Al Cannon Detention Center in North Charleston, South Carolina.
Hampton was granted a $30,000 surety bond. He was released after posting bond.
On June 7, 2024, Hampton will make his first court appearance. Catherine has yet to release a statement about his arrests.
