
Quaverre Rogers
Quaverre Rogers, 27, of Southaven, DeSoto County, Mississippi, United States has been arrested again. He is accused of killing Damein Vaughn Hawkins Sr. of Memphis, Shelby County, Tennessee, USA.
On November 25, 2023, Hawkins turned 52. At around 2:00 a.m. on March 17, 2024, he was fatally shot after a fight broke outside the Jerry Lee Lewis Café in Memphis.
According to a sworn arrest affidavit filed with the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, Rogers could be seen on video standing over Hawkins, pointing a gun at the Memphis man and trying to fire another round before running off. After a brief foot chase, the Southaven man was arrested.
Rogers was charged with second-degree murder and possession of a prohibited weapon. His bond was set at $750,000.
On April 10, 2024, both charges were dismissed due to lack of prosecution. Subsequently, a grand jury indicted Rogers for first-degree murder.
At around 11:00 a.m. on April 16, 2024, Rogers was arrested at a hotel in Olive Branch, Mississippi by the the U.S. Marshals Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force in Memphis and partner agencies. He was booked into the DeSoto County Jail in Hernando, DeSoto County and will be extradited to Tennessee.
