Christine Marie Cambric and Jason Deon McKenzie of Lansing, Ingham County, Michigan, United States have died. They were 53 and 50, respectively.
Cambric was an alumna of Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan. Aside from Lansing, she lived in other parts of Michigan including Rives Junction, Okemos and Dimondale.
McKenzie went to J. W. Sexton High School in Lansing. Aside from Lansing, he lived in other parts of Michigan including Parma, Holt and Lake.
On the evening of April 18, 2024, Cambric and McKenzie were found dead at a residence on the 500 block of Woodrow Avenue in Lansing. They were fatally shot allegedly by Dennis Joshua Whaley, 51, of Lansing.

On April 21, 2024, Lansing Police Department officers went to a residence at the cross streets of Foster Avenue and Elizabeth Street in Lansing searching for Whaley. They fired tear gas canisters inside the house to lure him out.
However, when the officers entered they residence, nobody was inside. At 10:30 p.m., Whaley was taken into custody.
On April 22, 2024, Whaley was officially named the suspect in the shooting that killed Cambric and McKenzie. Whether or not the victims knew the suspect is unclear.
Aside from Lansing, Whaley has lived in other parts of Michigan including Rives Junction, East Lansing, Millington and Grand Ledge. He also previously lived in North Palm Beach, Florida, USA and Denver, Colorado, USA.
Whaley is 6’2″ tall. He weighs around 195 pounds.
