Christopher “Kio” Dizefalo, 26, of San Francisco, California, United States has been arrested. He was booked into the Marin County Jail in San Rafael, California.
Bail for Dizefalo was set at $50,000. He was charged with child abduction, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and other violations.
Who is Christopher Dizefalo?
Aside from San Francisco, Dizefalo has lived in other parts of California including La Mesa, El Cajon and San Diego. He is an alumnus of Grossmont High School in El Cajon.
From 2013 to 2016, Dizefalo attended Foothills Christian High School in El Cajon. On March 6, 2014, she was at Murray Manor Apartments in La Mesa.
Dizefalo is friends with Mint Butterfield, 16, of Bolinas, California. The latter is the daughter of Flickr co-founders Caterina Fake, 54, and Stewart Butterfield, 51.
Stewart and Fake were married from 2001 to 2007. He is now married to Away co-founder Jen Rubio, 35, and she is married to Jaiku co-founder Jyri Engeström, 47.
On April 21, 2024, Dizefalo allegedly coaxed Mint into leaving home. The teenager lives in Fake’s house in Bolinas.
On April 22, 2024, Fake reported Dizefalo missing. The teenager was considered a voluntary missing juvenile.
At around 11:30 p.m. on April 27, 2024, the San Francisco Police Department and the Marin County Sheriff’s Office found Mint in Tenderloin, San Francisco. The teenager was in a white van associated with Dizefalo.
