Where’s Kendrick Hurst?

On July 27, 2007, Hurst and Kenneth Washington allegedly robbed Michael Chitwood at gunpoint. The victim was trying to buy marijuana from the two suspects.

Both Hurst and Washington were convicted of robbery, kidnapping, aggravated assault and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. In October 2022, Hurst was released from prison.

On June 29, 2023, Hurst was arrested for probation violation. On April 28, 2024, he was arrested in Newton County, Georgia and charged with obstruction, making terroristic threats, fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer and several traffic violations.

On May 4, 2024, Newton County Sheriff’s Office deputies were transporting Hurst from Piedmont Newton Hospital in Covington, Newton County to jail when he escaped. He was wearing a bright lime green jumpsuit and he left on foot.

On May 5, 2024, Hurst was seen in the area of City Pond Road in Covington wearing a red durag, dark blue jeans and no shirt. He was not captured.

Just before 1:30 a.m. on May 6, 2024, Hurst was seen in the area of Roy Dial Road in Oxford, Newton County. However, he was neither caught nor tracked down.

The U.S. Marshals Service and the Newton County Sheriff’s Office offered $3,000 and $500, respectively, for information leading to Hurst’s whereabouts. His family members are cooperating with the investigation.
