South Dakota, United States currently has five Miss USA placements. The state finished in the Top 5 in 2018 via Madison Nipe, Top 10 in 2016 via Madison McKeown, Top 12 in 1974 via Debra Ann Brickley, Top 15 in 1958 via Helen Youngquist and Top 16 in 2021 via Caroline Pettey.
On June 11, 2023, Amber Hulse of Black Hills was crowned Miss South Dakota USA 2023 at the Watertown Events Center in Watertown, South Dakota. The respective first, second, third and fourth runners-up were Lexus Paulson of Sioux Falls, Cathyliana Santiago-Nunez of Harrisburg, Anna Bonnstetter of Southeast South Dakota and Jaimye Wininger of Brookings.
Miss South Dakota USA 2024
The Miss South Dakota USA 2024 coronation night will take place at the Watertown Events Center on May 12, 2024. It is the 68th edition of the state-level beauty pageant that selects South Dakota’s candidate for Miss USA, which selects the Miss Universe candidate of the U.S.
