US Marshals arrest Peoria, Illinois’s Herman Carroll Sr. in Branson, Missouri

Herman Arthur Carroll Sr., 72, of Peoria, Peoria County, Illinois, United States has been arrested. He is a serial child rapist.

Who is Herman Carroll Sr?

A carpenter by trade, Carroll specialized in trim finishing in new construction. He sold stained glass on the street.

Aside from Peoria, Carroll has lived in other parts of Illinois including Mount Vernon and Galesburg. He is a sexual sex offender with prior convictions in 1983 and 1993.

On July 3, 2000, Carroll was arrested for sexually assaulting his daughter, then 12. After posting bail, he failed to appear for a court hearing in Moultrie County, Illinois.

Carroll was charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse, predatory criminal sexual assault of a child, predatory criminal sexual assault of a child and two counts of criminal sexual assault. In 2012, he was seen at a park in Branson, Taney County, Missouri, USA.

In June 2022, the Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force (GLRFTF) of the U.S. Marshals Service began an extensive and detailed investigation into Carroll’s whereabouts. On January 1, 2024, he turned 72.

On May 8, 2024, the investigation of the GLRFTF revealed information indicating Carroll was likely residing in Branson. On May 11, 2024, he was arrested and booked into the Taney County Jail in Forsyth, Taney County.
