“Gordo Gordo” Hector Manuel Cruz Ayala, 27, and “El Cantante” Jay Livan Diaz del Valle, 25, were on the list of Puerto Rico’s most wanted fugitives. Both are members of Los Viraos, a criminal organization in Cayey, Puerto Rico.

Jay Livan Diaz, Hector Manuel Cruz’s alleged crimes

On December 12, 2023, Cruz and Diaz opened fire on the Puerto Rico Police Department officers who were trying to arrest them on weapons possession charges. Three people were wounded.

After the shooting, both Cruz and Diaz fled. On March 2, 2024, Ezequiel Lleras Corredor, 26, allegedly murdered Lucas Torres Vázquez, 20, in Cayey.

On May 5, 2024, Diaz allegedly murdered Lleras and wounded another person in a nightclub in Puerto Rico. On May 10, 2024, the U.S. Marshals Service and the Puerto Rico Police Department received information about Cruz and Diaz being in New York City, New York, USA.

On May 13, 2024, Diaz was arrested while shopping at a warehouse at East Tremont and Marmion avenues in the Bronx, New York City. On May 14, 2024, Cruz was arrested without incident in an apartment on the 2000 block of Vyse Avenue in the Bronx.

The U.S. Marshals arrested Diaz and Cruz with the help of the New York Police Department and the New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force (NY/NJRFTF). The two suspects will be charged with attempted murder of a police officer and weapons possession, among other offenses.
