Guatemala currently has three Miss Universe placements including the Top 15 finish of María del Rosario Molina Chacón in 1955. Representing the Central American country in the international beauty pageant, both Ilma Juieta Urrutia Chang and Jessica Maria Scheel Noyola finished in the Top 10 in 1984 and 2010, respectively.

On November 18, 2023, Cohn represented Guatemala at Miss Universe 2023 and competed against 83 other candidates at the Gimnasio Nacional José Adolfo Pineda in San Salvador, El Salvador. She was unplaced but she made history as the first mother and the first married woman to represent her home country in Miss Universe.
