Zachary King, 47, served as the executive pastor at LexCity Church in Lexington, Kentucky, United States. He is currently in jail.

Who is Zachary King?

In January 2023, King allegedly started having sexual intercourse with a minor, then 15, and it continued until April 2024. They allegedly had sex at LexCity Church, at his residence and at the minor’s residence.

Other church staff found out about the abuse and confronted King. After the confrontation, the pastor resigned from his position at the church.

On July 1, 2024, King was arrested and booked into the Fayette County Detention Center in Lexington. He was charged with first-degree rape, first-degree sodomy, first-degree sexual abuse, third-degree rape, third-degree sodomy and procuring or promoting use of minor by electronic means.

On July 2, 2024, King was arraigned in Fayette County District Court in Lexington before Judge John Tackett. King’s attorney asked Tackett to set King’s bond at $50,000 and to allow King to pay 10 percent of that to get out.

Instead, Tackett set King’s bond at $250,000. King’s preliminary hearing will be on July 5, 2024.
