Who is Arayia Hudson?

Hudson gave birth to two sons in 2010 and in 2015. On March 1, 2018, she was arrested for grand theft.

On July 31, 2019, Hudson turned herself in at the Pasco County Jail in the Land O’ Lakes, Florida. She was accused of using her hairpiece to smuggle 94 pills into the Land O’ Lakes Detention Center in the Land O’ Lakes.

A total of 94 pills were sewn into the lining of Hudson’s hairpiece including 59 tramadol pills and 35 gabapentin capsules. She was charged with contraband in a county detention-drugs and possession of a controlled substance.

In 2020, Hudson gave birth to Joseph Hudson. On October 12, 2023, she turned 36.

At 4:37 a.m. on June 29, 2024, Tampa Police Department officers responded to a 911 call from Arayia, who reported that Joseph was unresponsive. According to her, he ate potato chips, drank water and started coughing.

The officers performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on Joseph and took him to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tampa. At 5:51 a.m., he was pronounced dead.

An autopsy found that Joseph died from blunt force trauma to the head and torso. He had bruises, abrasions, internal bleeding and other injuries, a medical examination found.

Arayia is accused of concealing evidence of Joseph’s abuse. Her second son told police officers that she kicked Joseph in the stomach and repeatedly pushed Joseph’s head into the wall.

At 7:30 p.m. on July 1, 2024, Arayia was arrested, booked into the Falkenburg Road Jail in Tampa without bond and charged with first-degree murder while engaged in aggravated child abuse. Her two other sons were transferred to the custody of their respective biological fathers.
