She is Marvin “Buddy” Potter Jr.‘s wife.
She is 2 years older than Buddy.
In 1980, she gave birth to Jenelle Leigh Potter.
In 2005, he moved to Mountain City with Buddy and Jenelle.
In 2012, her fellow Mountain City residents Billy Payne and Billie Jean Hayworth were fatally shot by her husband and Jenelle’s former boyfriend Jamie Lynn Curd.
In May 2015, she and Jenelle were indicted in the murders of Payne and Hayworth while Buddy, who was convicted in the murders, received two life sentences. Senior Judge Jon Kerry Blackwood merged the conspiracy and murder convictions, which was not still valid when she and her daughter were convicted.
While serving two life prison sentences, she and Jenelle appeared in a courtroom in Washington County, Tennessee in April 2019 to correct an error on Blackwood’s judgment in May 2015. The technical error had no impact on their sentences.

On November 10, 2021, she pleaded guilty to two counts of facilitation of first-degree murder in Washington County court so her sentence was reduced from life in prison to 25 years.
