Dr. Robert Lee Turner, 62, of Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States is an autism specialist and psychologist. Since 2017, he has been working with the Miami-Dade County Public Schools.
Who is Robert Turner?
While employed by the Miami-Dade County Public Schools, Turner allegedly possessed child sexual abuse videos and distributed two videos of child sexual abuse material online to more than 50 recipients. He has one video of two juveniles appearing to be 10-12 years old and another video of our nude male juveniles on a bed appearing to be between the ages of 8-14 years old.
In May 2024, the Miami-Dade Police Department and Internet Crimes Against Children Unit received a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children about the child sexual abuse content Turner was uploading to Instagram. On August 12, 2024, Miami-Dade Police Department officers served a search warrant at his residence.
In an attempt to keep the officers out, Turner locked the front door, tried to barricade himself in a locked bathroom and braced the door. The officers kicked the doors open and arrested him.
Turner was booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center in Miami, Miami-Dade County. On August 14, 2024, he appeared in court before Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Mindy S. Glazer.
Bond for Turner was set at $28,000. He was charged with resisting arrest, two counts of sharing child pornography and five counts of child pornography and prohibited from having contact with children and using the internet unless for certain contact with his attorney.
