Kimmy Low was born in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. She is an alumna of the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.
On July 12, 2024, Low announced her new role as the national director of Miss Universe Hong Kong. On July 17, 2024, she turned 39.

On September 26, 2024, the coronation ceremony of the inaugural edition of Miss Universe Hong Kong will be held at AXA Dreamland in Sai Sha, Hong Kong, China.
