13 Miss Universe Costa Rica 2024 candidates competing in San Antonio, Belen, Heredia

Costa Rica currently has six Miss Universe placements. The country was represented in the international beauty pageant by the winner of Miss Costa Rica from 1954 to 2023.

Miss Universe Costa Rica 2024

On September 10, 2024, Miss Universe 2023 Sheynnis Palacios will crown Miss Universe Costa Rica 2024 at the Centro Internacional de Convenciones ANDE (CIC ANDE) in San Antonio, Costa Rica. It is the inaugural edition of the national beauty pageant that selects the country’s Miss Universe candidate.

There are 13 women competing competing for the Miss Universe Costa Rica 2024 crown. Here are the candidates:

9. María Alejandra Acosta, 22, Heredia

12. Rebeca Mata, 31, Cartago

Marían Esquivel, Nancy Soto, Johanna Solano, Fabiana Granados, Natalia Carvajal and Ivonne Cerdas were among the Miss Costa winners who represented Costa Rica in Miss Universe. The only years the country was not represented in the international beauty pageant were 1952, 1953 and 1961.

On July 24, 1954, Esquivel finished in the Top 15 at Miss Universe 1954 at the Long Beach Municipal Auditorium in Long Beach, California, United States. On June 1, 2004, Soto finished in the Top 10 at Miss Universe 2004 at the Centro de Exposiciones y Convenciones Mitad del Mundo (CEMEXPO) in Quito, Ecuador.

On September 12, 2011, Solano finished in the Top 10 at Miss Universe 2011 at Credicard Hall in São Paulo, Brazil. On November 9, 2013, Granados finished in the Top 16 at Miss Universe 2013 at the Crocus City Hall in Krasnogorsk, Moscow, Russia.

On December 17, 2018, Carvajal finished in the Top 10 at Miss Universe 2018 at the Impact Arena in Pak Kret, Nonthaburi, Thailand. On May 16, 2021, Cerdas finished in the Top 10 at Miss Universe 2020 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida, USA.
