Born and raised in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Serena Lee won Miss Universe Malaysia 2023 in a private event at MOV Hotel in Jalan Berangan, Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur on August 27, 2023. She competed against five other Miss Universe Malaysia 2023 candidates including Caroline Green of Mukah, Sarawak, Malaysia Temara Nelia Inigo of Kuala Selangor, Selangor, Malaysia.
Runner-up to Lee was Green. Inigo was the second runner-up.
Miss Universe Malaysia 2024 predictions
On June 21, 2024, Elpis Models Management founder Eleen Yong became the new Miss Universe Malaysia national director. On September 6, 2024, Lee will crown her successor at The Majestic Hotel Kuala Lumpur, Autograph Collection in Kuala Lumpur, which marks the 57th edition of the national beauty pageant that selects Malaysia’s Miss Universe candidate.

Lee earned her law degree from the University of Leeds in Leeds, England, United Kingdom. She was unplaced when she represented Malaysia at Miss Universe 2023 on November 18, 2023 at the José Adolfo Pineda Arena in San Salvador, El Salvador where she competed against 83 other candidates.
