Kendra E. Long, 45, of Las Vegas, Nevada, United States and his former husband Anthony Austin Cruz, 51, of Henderson have a son born in 2014. She is also known as Kendra Long-Ypil.
Aside from Las Vegas, Long has lived in other parts of Nevada including Henderson. She previously lived in Grosse Ile, Michigan, USA and Harrison Township, Michigan.
Why was Kendra Long arrested again?
In July 2022, Long’s son was helping her look for something when he found a bag of drugs under her nightstand. After locking himself in the bathroom, he used a tablet to FaceTime his father, who then called the police.
The boy handed the bag to one of the Henderson Police Department officers as soon as they arrived. Long told the officers she did not own the drugs in the bag, which were 100 grams of methamphetamine.
Long was arrested and charged with drug trafficking and child abuse. She was released from jail after posting bail, which Henderson Justice Court Judge Stephen George set at $25,000.
According to a court document prosecutors filed in January 2023, Long violated bail conditions. She was reminded by Henderson Justice Court Judge Sam Bateman to comply with a family court order and in February 2023, prosecutors argued that bail condition violations should be addressed in front of the same judge.
When the criminal case proceeded to Clark County District Court in April 2023, Long pleaded guilty to one felony count of conspiracy to violate the Uniform Controlled Substances Act and a gross misdemeanor charge of child abuse, neglect and endangerment. She was sentenced by Judge Monica Trujillo to two years of probation through a suspended sentence.
In July 2023, Long was convicted of child abuse and drug charges. She was placed on probation by Trujillo, who issued a suspended sentence.
In October 2023, Long was arrested again after an officer with the Division of Parole and Probation found nine baggies of drugs containing 7.6 grams of cocaine and 2.2 grams of methamphetamine in her possession. Her bail was set by Las Vegas Justice Court Judge Harmony Letizia at $500 with high-level electronic monitoring.
Letizia sentenced Long to credit for time served in December 2023 after the latter pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor drug charge. The case was closed after Long met with a representative from American Addiction Centers.
In January 2024, Long was sentenced to two years of probation again after she was sent to an inpatient drug treatment center. During a probation compliance check on August 7, 2024, her probation officer found baggies with equipment like a scale, pills most commonly known as Xanax and Valium and more than 27 grams of meth.
On August 15, 2024, Nevada State Police arrested Long. She will be arraigned on September 18, 2024 and will attend a probation revocation hearing before Judge Erika Mendoza on September 19, 2024.
