Who is Oluseun Martins Omole?

From February 2018 to March 2023, Omole participated in a criminal enterprise based in Nigeria, which orchestrated various scams to defraud thousands of victims in the U.S. and elsewhere of more than $12 million in consumer electronics. During this period, he owned and operated Tobylink Impessions, a business corporation based in Texas.

Tobylink Impessions claimed to be a distributor, reseller and supplier of satellite communications equipment. In reality, it was a front through which Omole received more than 23,000 fraudulently obtained consumer goods including laptops, tablets, smartphones and smartwatches sent by thousands of victims across the U.S.

Omole then repackaged the goods and shipped them in bulk to other members of the enterprise in Nigeria.  In total, he charged his co-conspirators at least approximately $623,894.50 in duty fees and weight-based shipping fees in exchange for receiving and shipping more than $16 million in fraudulently obtained consumer electronics and other consumer goods.

From February 2018 to October 2021, Omole received items from victims at a storage unit in Richmond, Texas. From August 2021 to March 2023, he received items from victims at a warehouse in Sugar Land.

On April 16, 2024, Omole pleaded guilty before U.S. Magistrate Judge Katharine H. Parker to conspiracy to commit wire fraud. He agreed to pay restitution in an amount to be ordered by the court and to forfeit an amount of U.S. currency to be ordered by the court, various consumer electronics and other goods seized by law enforcement.

On September 11, 2024, U.S. District Judge Jesse M. Furman sentenced Omole to 10 years in prison and three years of supervised release. The latter was also ordered to forfeit $623,894.50 and various consumer electronics and other goods seized by law enforcement and to make restitution in an amount to be determined.
