Currently, Sri Lanka has two Miss Universe placements. Representing the Asian country, Maureen Neliya Hingert was second runner-up in 1955 and Christina Peiris finished in the Top 16 in 2017.
Sri Lanka was represented in Miss Universe in 1955, in 1957, from 1961 to 1966, from 1968 to 1971, from 1973 to 1983, from 1985 to 1996, in 2005, in 2006, in 2008, from 2010 to 2014 and from 2016 to 2018. In 2024, Nirmal Bandara became the new Miss Universe Sri Lanka national director.
Miss Universe Sri Lanka 2024
The Miss Universe Sri Lanka 2024 coronation ceremony will be held at the Citrus Resorts and Hotel in Waskaduwa, Sri Lanka on September 27, 2024. It is the 48th edition of the national beauty pageant that selects Sri Lanka’s Miss Universe candidate.
There are 18 women competing for the Miss Universe Sri Lanka 2024 crown. If facial beauty is the only criterion, these will be my Top 5 candidates:
