Lorena Santen of Aargau, Switzerland works at the Union Bank of Switzerland (UBS) in Zurich, Switzerland. She earned a bachelor’s degree in business economics from the ZHAW School of Management and Law in Winterthur, Switzerland.
On September 23, 2023, Santen competed against 14 other Miss Universe Switzerland 2023 candidates at Hotel Hilton Geneve in Geneva, Switzerland. She won the title.
Runner-up to Santen was Marisa Varunee of Bern. The respective second, third and fourth runners-up were Emilie Bovier of Geneva, Jessica Alice Schmid of Valais and Dalia del Valle Kramer of Zürich.

On November 18, 2023, Santen represented Switzerland at Miss Universe 2023 and competed against 83 other candidates at the José Adolfo Pineda Arena in San Salvador, El Salvador. She was unplaced.
