Why was Bryan Daniel Aldana-Arevalo arrested?

On July 26, 2024, Aldana-Arevalo was arraigned by authorities in Nantucket in the town’s district court for one count of rape of a child with a 10-year age difference and two counts of indecent assault and battery on a child under 14. On July 29, 2024, he was released by the district court on bail.

On September 10, 2024, Aldana-Arevalo was arrested in Nantucket by officers from officers from the field office of the Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in Boston, Massachusetts. The officers served him with a notice to appear before a U.S. Department of Justice immigration judge.

Currently, Aldana-Arevalo is in ERO custody. He stands accused of some detestable and disturbing crimes against a Nantucket child, according to ERO’s Boston field office director Todd M. Lyons.

“He represents a significant danger to the children of our Massachusetts communities,” Lyons said of Aldana-Arevalo. “ERO Boston will not tolerate such a threat to the most vulnerable of our population. We will continue to prioritize the safety of our public by arresting and removing egregious noncitizen offenders from our New England neighborhoods.”
