Currently, Italy has 16 Miss Universe placements including the first runner-up of Daniela Bianchi in 1960 and Roberta Capua in 1987. The most recent one was in 2014 when Valentina Bonariva finished in the Top 15.
Italy was represented in Miss Universe by the winner of Miss Universe Italy in 1953, in 1971 and from 2007 to 2022, Miss Italia in 1952, from 1954 to 1970 and from 1972 to 1999 and The Miss for Miss Universe from 2000 to 2005. The candidates in 1967, 1976 and 1979 were Miss Italia runners-up.
On October 8, 2023, Carmen Panepinto Zayati was crowned Miss Universe Italy 2023 at Lo Smeraldo Ricevimento di Lusso in Puglia, Italy. Andrea Pepi and Filomena Venuso were the respective first and second runners-up.
Miss Universe Italy 2024
The Miss Universe Italy 2024 coronation ceremony will be held at Villa Cafiero in San Ferdinando di Puglia, Barletta-Andria-Trani, Puglia on September 18, 2024. It is the 20th edition of the national beauty pageant that selects Italy’s Miss Universe candidate.
From 45 candidates, only 21 finalists were chosen to compete for the Miss Universe Italy 2024 crown. I believe these five candidates will make it to the top:
