Currently, India has 27 Miss Universe placements including the coronation of Sushmita Sen in 1994, Lara Dutta in 2000 and Harnaaz Sandhu in 2021. The most recent one was in 2023 when Shweta Sharda finished in the Top 20.
India was represented in Miss Universe by the winner of Femina Miss India in 1952, from 1964 to 2012 and Miss Diva from 2013 to 2023. Femina Miss India is Miss Diva’s parent organization.
Representing Chandigarh, Sharda was crowned Miss Diva Universe 2023 at The LaLiT in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India on August 27, 2023. Sonal Kukreja of Jaipur, Rajasthan and Trisha Shetty of Mumbai were the respective first and second runners-up.
Miss Universe India 2024
The Miss Universe India 2024 coronation ceremony will be held at Zee Studios in Jaipur on September 22, 2024. It is the inaugural edition of the national beauty pageant that selects India’s Miss Universe candidate.
