A total of 3,421 violent fugitives were arrested during the Operation North Star in the fiscal year 2024 (NS FY24). Among them, 803 were arrested for assault, 482 for weapons offenses and 216 for homicide.
The ONS FY24 is a fugitive apprehension initiative of the United States Marshals Services that started on May 10, 2024 and ended on September 13, 2024. It targeted fugitives and violent offenders in 10 metropolitan areas namely:
- Dallas, Texas, USA and Fort Worth, Texas
- Charleston, South Carolina, USA and North Charleston, South Carolina
- Baton Rouge, Louisiana, USA
- Little Rock, Arkansas, USA
- Phoenix, Arizona, USA
- St. Louis, Missouri, USA and East St. Louis, Illinois, USA
- Birmingham, Alabama, USA
- Winston-Salem, North Carolina, USA
- Dayton, Ohio, USA
- San Antonio, Texas
Among the 3,421 violent fugitives arrested were Aaron Michael Jones, Garron Stevenson, Allan Gilbert, Hayden Bates-Vellmure, Jordan Elijah Jackson, Patrick Biscoe and Michael Muldovan. Jones was wanted by the Baton Rouge Police Department for child endangerment, domestic abuse battery and home invasion and arrested by members of the Middle Louisiana Task Force in Baton Rouge on May 20, 2024.
Stevenson was accused of opening fire at a street racing event, killing a 14-year-old and striking seven people. He was wanted for first-degree murder and the unlawful use of a weapon.
On May 21, 2024, USMS personnel from the Eastern District of Missouri arrested Stevenson in St. Louis. An AR-15 style rifle and a revolver were recovered during his arrest.
Gilbert, Bates-Vellmure, Jackson and Biscoe were wanted on charges relating to a drive-by shooting, which injured multiple children. Members of the North Texas Fugitive Task Force arrested the four suspects in Fort Worth, Texas on May 22, 2024.
On August 15, 2024, members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested Muldovan in Sterling, Virginia, USA. He was wanted in Winston-Salem, North Carolina for first-degree statutory rape and indecent liberties with a child.
