Israel currently has 21 Miss Universe placements. The country was represented in the competition by Malkat Hayofi in 1952 and from 1954 to 2021.
On July 11, 1976, Rina Messinger represented Israel at Miss Universe 1976 and competed against 73 other candidates at the Lee Theatre in Hong Kong, China. She won the title.
Messinger is the first and still the only Miss Universe from Israel. She served as one of the judges at Miss Universe 2021.
The last edition of Malkat Hayofi was held at Hotel Debrah Brown in Tel Aviv, Israel on October 24, 2021. It was won by Noa Kochva of Bnei Atarot.
Runner-up to Kochva was Yarin Buzaglo of Petah Tikva. Aline Gurevitz of Atlit and Ofir Natalie Korsia of Rishon Lezion were the second runners-up.
On December 13, 2021, Kochva represented Israel at Miss Universe 2021 and competed against 79 other candidates at the Universe Dome in Eilat, Israel. She was unplaced.
