Bulgaria was represented in Miss Universe from 1991 to 1998, 2000 to 2007, in 2009 and from 2012 to 2023. The Balkan country was represented in Miss World in 1988, from 1990 to 2005, from 2007 to 2013, from 2015 to 2019 and from 2021 to 2023.
Representing Bulgaria, Evgenia Kalkandzhieva finished in the Top 10 at Miss World 1995, which is currently the country’s only Miss World placement. On the other hand, the country has yet to place in Miss Universe.
Veneta Krasteva is currently the national director of Miss Universe Bulgaria. She represented Bulgaria at Miss Universe 2013 and Miss World 2015.
Miss Universe Bulgaria 2024
The Miss Universe Bulgaria 2024 coronation ceremony will be held at the C’est La Vie Club in Sofia, Bulgaria on October 13, 2024. It is the 30th edition of the national beauty pageant that selects Bulgaria’s Miss Universe and Miss World candidates.
The candidates who are older than 28 are eligible only for the Miss Universe Bulgaria 2024 title. The candidates who are younger than 18 are eligible only for the Miss World Bulgaria 2025 title.
There are 17 women competing for the two titles at stake. If facial beauty is the only criterion, these will be my Top 5 candidates:
