Who is Cody Gibson?
Cody Gibson is an American teacher and professional mixed martial artist born in Blackwell, Oklahoma, United States and raised in Visalia, California, USA. He and his wife Jackie Gibson have three children together.
Cody is a brown belt in Brazilian jiujitsu. His fight name is The Renegade.
While competing as an MMA fighter, Cody taught history to high school students in the Lucia Mar Unified School District in Arroyo Grande, California. After graduating from Mount Whitney High School in Visalia and Bakersfield Junior College in Bakersfield, California, he earned his bachelor’s degree in history from Menlo College in Atherton, California and his master’s degree in education from Brandman University in Aliso Viejo, California.
Currently, Cody signed with the Ultimate Fighting Championship, which is based in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. He is 5’10” tall, he competes in the bantamweight division and he holds a professional MMA record of 21 wins and 10 losses.
Before joining the UFC, Cody competed in Gladiator Challenge, Tachi Palace Fights, The Warriors Cage, Extreme Fighters World Championships, Titan Fighting Championship and War MMA. He competed in the UFC from 2014 to 2015, in TWC and TPF from 2016 to 2017, in Legacy Fighting Alliance in 2018, in Xtreme MMA in 2021 and in Eagle FC and Up Next Fighting in 2022.
