Mister International was founded in 2006 by Alan Sim, who died on October 12, 2022. After his death, two organizations started using the same title.

One organization is based in Thailand and is led by Pradit Pradinunt. The other organization is based in the Philippines and is led by Manuel Deldio.

On September 17, 2023, Kim Goodburn won the 15th edition of Mister International at the Crystal Design Center Ballroom in Khwaeng Khlong Chan, Bangkok, Thailand. On October 20, 2023, Jose Calle of Spain won the same title at the Cordillera Convention Center, Baguio County Club, Baguio City, Philippines

Calle will crown his successor at the Toledo City Megadome in Toledo City, Cebu, Philippines on November 10, 2024. Goodburn will crown his successor in Bangkok on December 14, 2024.
