Francisco “Fran” Zafra represented Almeria, Andalusia, Spain in the third edition of Míster Internacional España. He represented the country in the 16th edition of Mister International, which was founded in 2006 by Alan Sim.

After Sim’s death on October 12, 2022, two organizations started holding Mister International annually and separately, both claiming to be the official competition. Pradit Pradinunt leads one in Thailand and Manuel Deldio leads the other one in the Philippines.
