Who is Akysanna Veiga?

Akysanna Vany Vaz da Veiga is a Cabo Verdean journalist, singer, poet, model and beauty queen born in Santa Catarina, Santiago, Cabo Verde. She represented Cabo Verde in Miss International.

When Veiga competed in Miss Cabo Verde Internacional, she was based in Varzea, Praia, Santiago and was attending the Jean Piaget University of Cape Verde in Praia. Aside from Santa Catarina and Praia, she has lived in other parts of Santiago including Assomada and Calheta de São Miguel.

1. In 2008, she was not allowed to participate in a singing contest because of her age.
2. In 2015, she won a beauty pageant in Assomada, which was her first ever beauty pageant.
3. In 2021, she was crowned Miss Jean Piaget University of Cape Verde.
4. On April 2, 2022, she represented Varzea at Miss Praia Maria 2022, competed against 10 other candidates at Auditório Nacional in Praia and won the title.
5. On September 3, 2022, she represented Calheta São Miguel at Miss Cabo Verde International 2022 and competed against 39 other candidates at Largo Amílcar Cabral in Praia. She finished in the Top 5.
6. In August 2023, she visited the Bikini Beach Club in Santa Maria, Sal, Cape Verde.
7. On June 1, 2024, she performed at the Cape Verde Music Awards 2024 in Praia.
8. On August 2, 2024, she represented Santa Catarina at Miss Cabo Verde Internacional 2024 and competed against 21 other candidates at the Assembleia Nacional de Cabo Verde in Praia and won the title.
9. On August 5, 2024, she graduated from the Jean Piaget University of Cape Verde with a bachelor’s degree in journalism.
