Victoria Kjær Theilvig, 21, of Søborg, Denmark won the 73rd edition of Miss Universe. The international beauty pageant is currently co-owned by Anne Jakkaphong Jakrajutatip of JKN Global Group and Raul Rocha Cantú of Legacy Holding Group.

Hosted by Mario Lopez and Olivia Culpo, the Miss Universe 2024 coronation ceremony was held at the Arena Cuidad de Mexico in Azcapotzalco, Mexico City, Mexico on November 16, 2024. Emilio Estefan, Robin Thicke, Taboo, Vikina, Nico Ruiz, Richaelio and The Mariachi performed during the event.

Estefan was also one of the judges. Joining him in the selection committee were Camila Guiribitey, Eva Cavalli, Fariana, Gabriela Gonzalez, Gary Nader, Gianluca Vacchi, Jessica Carrillo, Lele Pons, Margaret Gardiner, Michael Cinco, Nova Stevens and Romero Britto.

Including Denmark, 125 countries and territories were represented at Miss Universe 2024. Originally, 128 women went to Mexico City to compete for the title but one was disqualified and two withdrew from the competition before the coronation ceremony.

Runner-up to Theilvig was Chidimma Adetshina, 23, of Nigeria. The respective second, third and fourth runners-up were Maria Fernanda Beltran, 24, of Mexico, Suchata Chuangsri, 21, of Thailand and Ileana Marquez, 28, of Venezuela.

This is not the first time Theilvig competed in an international beauty pageant. On October 25, 2022, she represented Denmark at Miss Grand International 2022 and competed against 67 other candidates at the Sentul International Convention Center in West Java, Indonesia.

Theilvig finished in the Top 20. Isabella Menin, then 26, of Brazil won the title.

Runner-up to Menin was Engfa Waraha of Thailand while the respective second, third and fourth runners-up were Andina Julie, then 21, of Indonesia, Luiseth Materan, then 26, of Venezuela and Mariana Beckova, then 23, of the Czech Republic. Materan finished in the Top 16 at Miss Universe 2021.
