Joshua Benedict represented Malaysia in the second edition of Mister Tourism World and the 11th edition of Mister World. He holds bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in psychology.

BIOGRAPHY

Benedict is a Chinese-Indian-Malaysian human rights advocate, model and beauty king. He was born in Johor Bahru, Johor, Malaysia to an Indian-Portuguese father, who is a retired navy officer, and a Chinese mother.

Aside from Johor Bahru, Benedict has lived in other parts of Malaysia including Kedah. At a very young age, he was diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.

Modeling was not part of Benedict’s plans growing up. He became a model after being recommended by a friend, who is a model, to a designer to replace another model who withdrew from a fashion show at the last minute.

• On July 18, 2017, he was appointed Mister Tourism Malaysia 2017.
