Slađana Božović (Слађана Божовић) represented Yugoslavia in the second edition of Miss Earth. It is an international beauty pageant launched in the Philippines in 2001.

Yugoslavia was a socialist federal republic established on November 29, 1945 with six constituent republics namely Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia and Slovenia. In 1991, Croatia, Macedonia and Slovenia declared independence from Yugoslavia while Bosnia and Herzegovina declared its sovereignty.

On April 27, 1992, the Serbia and Montenegro became a country called the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. In 2003, the country was renamed the State Union of Serbia and Montenegro and in 2006, it was divided into two counties namely Serbia and Montenegro.

Božović is the only Miss Earth Yugoslavia. Her successor Katarina Vucetic is the first Miss Earth Serbia and Montenegro.

2000s

  • On October 10, 2001, she competed at Miss Yugoslavia 2001 at the Sava Center in Belgrade, Serbia, Yugoslavia. She was runner-up to Tijana Stajsic. She was crowned Miss Earth Yugoslavia 2002 and Stajsic was crowned Miss World Yugoslavia 2001.
  • On May 29, 2002, she represented Yugoslavia at Miss Universe 2002 and competed against 74 other candidates at the Coliseo Roberto Clemente in San Juan, Puerto Rico, United States. She was unplaced.
  • On October 20, 2002, she represented Yugoslavia at Miss Earth 2002 and competed against 52 other candidates at the Folk Arts Theater in Pasay City, Metro Manila, Philippines. She ranked third and was crowned Miss Earth-Water 2002.
  • She was promoted from Miss Earth-Water 2002 to Miss Earth-Air 2002 after Miss Earth 2002 Džejla Glavović was dethroned on May 28, 2003 and the title was officially given to Winfred Omwakwe, originally Miss Earth-Air 2002, on August 7, 2003.

2010s

  • In January 2010, she became the Nordic Business Alliance executive director.
