Angelina Camillia Gonzales of Azusa, San Gabriel Valley, Los Angeles County, California, United States was supposed to celebrate her 18th birthday on January 7, 2025. She is Leticia Marie Pimentel Caraballo‘s daughter, Ruben Torres‘s sister and Robert Caraballo‘s stepdaughter.

On November 5, 2024, Robert Gonzales was reelected as the mayor of Azusa. The city is served by the Azusa Unified School District, which has two high schools namely Azusa High School and Sierra High School.
Around 90% of the Azusa High School students are Hispanic. The school has teams in 13 sports namely badminton, baseball, basketball, cross country, football, golf, soccer, softball, swimming, tennis, track and field, volleyball and wrestling.
Angelina was a cheerleader at Azusa High School. She also joined the school’s wrestling team and won her first match.
On December 20, 2024, Angelina was picked up from a cheerleading banquet by her ex-boyfriend, 18. From there, he brought her back to his residence at the 300 block of North Soldano Avenue in Azusa.
At around 10:00 p.m., Azusa Police Department officers responded to that residence where they found Angelina suffering from stab wounds. She was taken to a hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Accused of killing Angelina, the ex-boyfriend has been arrested. The Los Angeles County district attorney is reviewing the case.
On December 24, 2024, the ex-boyfriend will be arraigned. The Azusa Police Department did not released his name.
Rocky Wenrick
Rocky Wenrick was a police officer in El Monte, Los Angeles County from October 1997 to June 2001. He was a U.S. Secret Service special agent from June 2001 to January 2003.
In January 2003, Wenrick became an Azusa Police Department officer. He became the department’s interim chief in February 2022 and its chief in November 2022.
