Jason Sargeant, 28, of Brooklyn, New York City, New York, United States has been arrested. He is accused of stabbing Imani-Ciara Pizarro, 26, who graduated from the Bronx Community College of the City University of New York in the Bronx, New York City in May 2019.

On the evening of December 25, 2024, Sargeant allegedly slashed a man, 42, in the left wrist at the 42 Street-Grand Central subway station in Manhattan, New York City. The victim’s name was not released.

At around 10:00 p.m., Pizzaro spotted blood spattered on the floor near the turnstiles after getting off the 4 train at Grand Central Terminal in Manhattan. She was heading to her administrative night job at the Roosevelt Hotel in Manhattan, which has been converted into a migrant shelter.

While Pizzaro was Facetiming with a neighbor, she was sucked punched in the back of the head allegedly by Sargeant. After she was forced to the ground, he allegedly repeatedly yelled at her, “What’s your problem?”

Using a small knife, Sargeant allegedly slashed Pizzaro in the neck and kicked her phone away. The knife was later recovered at the scene.

Sargeant fled up an escalator while Pizzaro ran to the Roosevelt Hotel where she was given first aid. Both victims were were rushed to Bellevue Hospital in Manhattan and are in stable condition.

Later that day, Sargeant was arrested and charged with menacing, assault, harassment, disorderly conduct, reckless endangerment and criminal possession of a weapon. He has three prior arrests for assaulting a police officer, criminal mischief and fare beating.
