Mackenzie Michalski of Fredonia, Chautauqua County, New York, United States has died. She was 31.
Originally from Fredonia, Michalski later moved to Portland, Oregon, USA where she worked as a nurse practitioner. She is Bill Michalski‘s daughter.
Portland is home to Adventist Health Portland, Legacy Health, Providence Portland Medical Center, the Oregon Health and Science University and the Shriners Children’s Portland. The city is around 497 miles away from Fredonia, which is home to the State University of New York at Fredonia.

On the evening of November 4, 2024, Mackenzie met a man, 37, at a nightclub in Budapest, Hungary while on vacation. He is a citizen of Ireland and was identified only as L.T.M.
After dancing together that evening, Mackenzie and L.T.M. travelled to his rented apartment. According to him, he accidentally killed her during an intimate encounter.
To conceal Mackenzie’s death, L.T.M. cleaned the apartment. He then rented a car, put her body in a suitcase, hid it in woodland near Szigliget, Veszprém County, Hungary and drove back to Budapest.
On November 5, 2024, Mackenzie was reported missing. On November 7, 2024, L.T.M. was arrested at his rented apartment in Budapest.
While L.T.M. confessed to killing Mackenzie, he insisted it was an accident. He showed detectives where he had disposed her body.
Budapest’s Metropolitan Prosecution Office applied to extend the detention period of the suspect. On December 6, 2024, the metropolitan magistrate’s court of the city decided to detain him until March 10, 2025.
The suspect is represented by György Magyar. The lawyer claimed that Mackenzie’s death was an accidental act without intention.
On January 18, 2025, Mackenzie’s family and friends gathered at Asbury Hall in Buffalo, Erie County, New York. It would have been her 32nd birthday.
